Kill Bill Vol 1 & 2 (2003)
First, let me just say I love Quentin Tarantino. And this is one of his greatest films. Kill Bill is the story of a warrior woman (Uma Thurman as The Bride) who will stop at nothing to kill her former lover Bill (David Carradine) who shot her in the head and left her for dead while pregnant during her wedding rehearsal. This movie is violent, artsy, goes back and forth, there is animation, Asian folklore, and pop culture references. This movie isn't for everybody but definitely worth watching.
