The Dark Knight (2008)
This sequel of the Christian Bale batman series is not only one of the best movies of the last decade, but truly one of the best action movies ever made. This movie is about 3 hours long, but it just flies by. Batman/Bruce Wayne is once again struggling with who he is and how to keep Gotham City safe from criminals. After the district prosecutor Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) who happens to be dating Bruce Wayne’s lifelong friend and love interest Rachel Dawes (Maggie Gyllenhaal) locks up half the city’s criminals, the mob gets upset and hires The Joker (Heath ledger) to go after Harvey Dent. The Joker, who was first hired to go after Batman and then later Harvey Dent, just loves creating chaos for chaos sake. He can not be controlled, bought, sold, or stopped. How can Batman possibly save Gotham and the people he loves from this insane clown?
This movie sucks you in and makes you believe in the characters and the world they live in. Heath Ledger takes the character of The Joker and turns him into a deranged, immoral, unstoppable, completely insane, yet some how likeable person.
