Almost Famous (2000)
Loosely based on director and writer Cameron Crowes adolescence as a writer for Rolling Stone, Almost Famous is about a young high school writer William Miller (Patrick Fugit) who is assigned to write an article about an up and coming band while going on tour with them. He sees all the behind-the-scenes things that go on with bands; the groupies, the ego's, the highs, the lows, etc. Things get a little complicated when he falls for Penny Lane a groupie (or band aide) who is dating the lead singer (Billy Crudup as Russell Hammond) of the band he is writing about. This movie is wildly entertaining, great soundtrack and just an overall great movie.
