Steph - Yay! A Psychological film! I love those. That being said, this was not Scorsese's best film. It dragged a little at the end, and you can see the ending coming from a mile away. Not to mention it really bothered me that a character was refered to as having Manic-Depression (which is now called Bipolar Disorder) but when their symptoms were described they clearly had Schizophrenia. But overall I liked this movie. The accents were fun (Kris and I love doing our impressions). Plus, I liked looking at an insane asylum circa 1950 and all of the old therapies that were used that would never be used today. Not to mention the defense mechinisms people use to sheild themselves after a trauma. This movie was dark, trippy, and entertaining.
Kris... We are dully appointed federal marshals- said with a thick boston accent. I was digging this movie. You see the twist coming about half way through the movie but that did hurt it at all.Leonardo DiCaprio is the star here and he is strong in this role.in fact the entire cast was very good and i liked the look of the movie. The flash backs were pretty brutal but they needed to be. As steph said this isnt Scorsese's best. But its strong film noir and will have you thinking about it long after you leave the theatre.
