True Grit

Steph... This is a very good movie! Jeff Bridges is amazing as always. His portal as a drunk Marshall trying to help a girl avenge her fathers death was gritty, real, and at times funny. New comer Hailee Steinfeld is wonderful as Maddy, a 14 year old girl who will stop at nothing to catch Tom Chaney her father's murderer. Matt Damon was ok as a Texas Ranger also on the hunt for Chaney but he seemed out of place. I think I would have liked his character more if it had been striped down a little. He just seemed over the top and at times cartoonish. Josh Brolin was ok as Tom Chaney; he wasn't really in the movie all that much though. All and all a great movie and a must see. Make time to watch True Grit! :)

Kris.... Awesome movie. Westerns are rare and a good western is even rarer. Steph nailed it when it comes to performances. Although i would also like to point out Barry Pepper. I thought he was very good in this one. All in all this is a must see if your over the age of 18. It was the right combination of funny and dramatic. This is another hit for the Coen brothers. Their forth in a row. After No country for old men(2007) and Burn after reading(2008) and A Serious Man(2009). Cant wait to see their next movie.

Leaves of grass

Kris...... I thought this one was going to be better. Really only check this one out if you are a big Edward Norton fan. It was cool to see the two different personalities he can play. Also I did this entire review from our new iPad. Awesome

Jonah Hex

Steph...Where do I begin? You know a movie isn't that great when you stop paying attention. I think there was a plot or at least an attempt at one, but I couldn't tell you what it was. Josh Brolin is good at being angry and trying to hunt down and kill the man that scarred him and killed his family. Megan Fox is there being sassy and sexy in a corset. And believe it or not I'm not going to hate on her, thats what the role called for and that's what she did. Though I would really like to see her in a role that wasn't strictly about her appearance. The bright spot of this movie was John Malkavich. He is a true professional because he made this crap entertaining. He was just so deliciously evil and fun to watch. In my opinion this is so not worth watching unless you must see Megan Fox in a corset.

Kris... Megan Fox in a corset? Yes please. This one was just ok. It kept my interest but thats about all. Brolin is good and Malkavich is pretty good. My only complaint is the music was too loud and made it hard to hear the actors at times. Also keep an eye out for Michael Fassbender. You will remember him from Inglorious Bastards. He is solid here. All in all this is a decent movie thats worth checking out. Megan Fox should be in a corset in every movie she is in ;)

Peacock

Steph... This movie was definitely weird and definitely interesting. The main character is John/Emma played wonderfully by Cillian Murphy (Batman Begins, 28 Days Later). He is a quiet and shy man that likes to keep to himself. This is mainly because he has a split personality. The other half of his personality is Emma who does his chores and cooks his food and never leaves the house. Everything changes one day when a train skips off the track and lands in John/Emma's backyard and almost hits Emma. The neighbors are all surprised that Emma is in John's backyard because they assumed that John lived alone. After meeting Emma they all just assume that she's John's wife. Things get even more complicated when Maggie (Ellen Page) a down on her luck waitress and baby momma of John's child shows up looking for help in leaving town. This movie was ok but in my opinion had one BIG flaw.....

Seriously! How dumb are these towns people!?! If they had never met John and had just seen him as a woman I could buy that they had no idea because he was passable as a chick. But this was supposed to be a small town where everyone knew each other and grew up together and it was CLEARLY Cillian Murphy in wig. WTF towns people!

So all and all, its not something to run out and watch but its not bad. Its one of those movies that makes you think.

Kris... Its like the old superman movie and TV show. You clearly see its superman, but with glasses on everyone thinks its Clark Kent. I was impressed with Cillians performance. As Steph said he was passable as a frumpy woman. Story was a kind of boring and the end was unsatisfying. Maybe check this one out if there isnt anything else to watch.

Splice

Steph...This movie was wrong on SOO many levels! And yet it was entertaining, but wrong. I had a great time watching it though. It was our Movie Night movie so after a few beers and with some great company Splice was wrong and hilarious (more than once the creature as an infant was referred to as a fucked up chicken/turkey). If you're curious go watch it but this is not a must see.

Kris.... I liked this one. I liked that it was disturbing and went were other movies wont go. Adrian Brody and Sara Polly are both solid actors and they do their best here. Check this one out and squirm through out the movie :)

Unstoppable

Steph... Two morons who don't know how to do their jobs screw up and now a train was hazardous chemicals is on the loose and no one can stop it except for Denzel Washington and Chris Pine with the help of Rosario Dawson. I liked this movie. It was a lot better than I thought it would be. For a movie that is supposed to be a fun thriller about a runaway train,, it was actually pretty smart.

Kris... Denzel Washington just doesn't make bad movies and he delivers here again. There are 3 or 4 moments where you will be like "no way that really happens" but that doesn't take away from the movie. This one is solid. Some laughs and a lot of suspense. So I say check this one out.

RED

Steph...This movie was very entertaining. Bruce Willis and Morgan Freeman where great as usual. John Malkovich was hilarious. And of course, Helen Mirren was wonderful. This movie is not going to win any awards but if your looking for something fun its worth seeing.

Kris.... We saw this one at the drive in as a double feature with unstoppable. Like that movie this one is solid. The whole cast is good but Malkovich kind of stole the show. If your heading to the movies then you should check this one out.

Valentine's Day

Steph...This movie was ok. The only problem is that everyone under the sun is in this movie. There is just way too much going on. I forgot about half of the story lines. If the cast was reduced by 50% I think it would have been a lot better.

Kris.... I only caught the last half of this one. Typical romantic comedy. Huge cast, but is just ok as a movie. Oh ya, Jessica Biel is amazingly hot. Maybe thats enough to go see this one.

Killers

Steph...This movie was better than I thought it would be but it was just ok. It was very predictable and not very funny. There were a few cute scenes but in the end it was just alright.

Kris.... This one will keep you entertained but you will forget about it as soon as its over. It was good to see Tom Selleck again. Rent this if you dont have many options and you might like it. But then again maybe not.

Get Him To The Greek

Steph..This movie was totally funny! The opening sequence is just hysterical! Jonah Hill and Russell Brand are just wonderful. This is definitely worth watching.

Kris.... This one was funny. Brand and Hill are perfectly cast here and both do a great job. Only thing disappointing here was not one Oasis reference in the whole movie. Elisabeth Moss was good and it was nice to see her outside of her Mad Men role. Also check out Lars Ulrich as himself in a funny cameo.

Stolen

Steph...Jon Hamm stars in this movie as a detective whose son has been missing for 8 years. Things get interesting when the skeletal remains of a boy from 1958 is found with the same toy his son had when he went missing. He soon becomes obsessed with the case, but is there a connection between this boy and his son? And will he ever find out what happened to either one of them?

This movie is so sad but very good. Jon Hamm is amazing as always. Josh Lucas and James Van Der Beek also star in this and are very good. This is definitely worth watching.

Winter's Bone

Steph... Winter's Bone is about a girl who at age 17 is taking care of her invalid mother and 2 young siblings, when the local sheriff comes and tells her that if her father doesn't show up for court that they will lose their house. So she sets out to find him or what happened to him by asking his drug dealing friends where he is, but is that such a smart thing to do?

I really like this movie. The scenery is very dark and drab but its very hypnotic. Nothing really happens but before you know it you've been watching it for an hour. I would definitely recommend this movie

Steph...So I'm probably about the last person on Earth who hasn't seen this movie so I'm sure this review seems a bit redundant. But anyways, I just finished watching it and I don't really understand all the hype that surrounded it. I mean don't get me wrong its an ok movie but I didn't go gaga over it. In fact I think I've seen it before (imagine the Native Americans in Dances With Wolves and 8ft tall and blue and its pretty much the same movie). So all in all its ok. I don't really need to say if you should see it or not because I'm sure you have :)

Kris..... Solid movie.... yes. Actually a very good movie.... yes. Best movie ever..... Not close. Avatar is a solid action movie but did stole the whole idea from dances with wolves. But for the 2 or 3 people who haven't seen this one go ahead and check it out.

Saw 3D

Steph... Well this is basically just another Saw film. Traps are set up and people are killed in gruesome sick ways. I don't think that the 3D aspect really added anything to the movie. It still would have been gross and disturbing either way. For those of you, like myself, who watching the show "Scream Queens." What a fucking waste of time. The girl who won was barley in it (like maybe 1 minute). I don't even think she said anything. She just screamed a lot and then was killed. But anyways, if you like the Saw films go see it. If not don't bother.

Kris.... if you have seen the other movies in the series then you have to see this one too. It actually was better than the last 2. They should end it here and go out on a high note.

The Human Centipede

Steph...WTF? This movie was a trip. Its not very bloody (though there was one part where I had to look away) but its very disturbing. This movie is about a retired German surgeon who specialized in separating conjoined (Siamese) twins. He really doesn't like people and has a thing for conjoined persons. So after surgically fusing his dogs together he thinks, why not try it on humans? The doctor kidnaps 3 tourists and gets to work. When one girl tries to escape he makes her the middle piece. Really the only thing worse then someone surgically fused to your ass is you being surgically fused to someone else's ass while someone is fused to yours (GROSS!). I wouldn't say this is a must see, but if your curious and can stomach the creepiness, go for it.

Kris... I like this one. Its not for the sqirmish but if you can take it then its very entertaining. Cant wait for the sequel.

The Killer Inside Me

Steph... This movie was a trip. Small town Deputy Sheriff Lou Ford (Casey Affleck) is a baby faced, quiet man who happens to be a sociopathic, S&M loving, killer. Things get out of control when his revenge plot against the man who killed his brother get complicated and he has to keep killing people to cover up his part in killing the man's son and a hooker. Casey Affleck's performance was great. He pulls off the role with the right amount of menace. Jessica Alba also stars as the prostitute he loves but is willing to kill. Kate Hudson also stars as Lou's finance. Both of their performances are ok but their roles are pretty minor. This movie is not for everyone. I wouldn't call this a must see but if you want to see something a little different check this one out.

This is a smaller movie that didn't get a lot of buzz and was in and out of the theaters. Too bad because it is a very good one. Casey Affleck's performance was subtle but very good. For that alone you should check this one out.

Paranormal Activity 2

Steph...I LOVED this movie! It scared the crap out of me. I love the simplicity of it. I love that the actors are regular looking people that truly look frightened. I love that its just shot in someone's house. I just love the whole thing. For me, the movies that have always been the scariest are the simpler ones. I think that there is something much more terrifying about hearing a strange noise that you can't you explain than the bloodiest most expensive special effect. This movie was great, it stayed true to the first one and added to it. The only thing that bothered me was that this family installed an expensive state of the art security camera system and even though there is all this weird unexplainable stuff going on in their house they never bother to watch the tapes. WTF? But then again if people were smart in scary movies they would only last 10 minutes. So if you liked Paranormal Activity definitely go see this!

Kris.... Just as good as the first one? .... I say yes. I really liked how they integrated the first one into this one. I was worried when they announced this one because i thought maybe they where just rushing it out and the quality wouldn't be as good, but those worries melt away 15 minutes in. Like the first one this one is funny and scary in just the right amounts. I am not going to give any of the story away to ruin it but if you liked the first one you should check this one out.

The Lovely Bones

Steph...This movie was long and sad. Its about a girl who is murdered by her neighbor at age 14. She describes what her life was like before she was killed and we see what happens to her family after she dies. She also spends the movie wondering if they will ever figure out that the weird single neighbor man killed her. I didn't like the ending and it was a bit long but I still think its worth a watch.

Kris..... This one was pretty good. Nothing special but the cast is solid.Check out Stanley Tucci as one of the creepiest guys ever.

Jackass 3D

Steph...One of the things that Kris likes best about me is that I am not a typical girl. I don't do "chick flicks," I'm not particularly sentimental, and I'd rather be hit by a truck than cry. However, make me watch Jackass and 3 minutes in I'm all typical girl. I think I only saw about half the movie. I'm sorry. I know people like this stuff but I just can't do flying poo and snakes. I just can't. But in all honesty there were parts that were funny. If you can get past all the gross stuff its pretty entertaining. So if your a fan of the show and the other 2 movies, go see it (if you haven't already). If your not, its nothing you need to see.

Kris... This is everything you need to see. Sometimes it is best just to do something stupid and laugh and thats what this is. Is it gross? Yes very much so. Poop and barf and drinking sweat. Everyone in the cast is amazing in their own way, but Knoxville is obviously the leader and the most hard core of them. All in all I say this is a must see movie. Just sit back and laugh your ass off.

Devil

Steph.. This is M. Night Shyamalan's newest film. In this movie five people get trapped in an elevator. As if that wasn't bad enough, one of these people happen to be the devil. People keep dying one by one until its revealed which one is the killer/devil *Special side note - I so called who it was Kris!* This is one of the best movies M. Night has done in years (Seriously, the last movie about the plants. Really?!?). Not one of his best movies but definitely improved. I think this is worth seeing.

Kris... Ok after checking out this movie online turns out M. Night only wrote this one and didn't direct it. But I enjoyed this one. It was suspenseful ,well acted and even had some funny moments. It is totally worth checking out.

My Soul To Take

Steph...So this is Wes Craven's newest teen slasher. In this one a man at the beginning of the movie discovers that he is possessed and is "The Ripper," a serial killer who has been killing people in the town. He tries to turn himself in but his other personality kills his pregnant wife and goes after their young daughter. The unborn baby and the daughter survive. However, there is a big ambulance accident while taking the injured ripper to the hospital and its assumed that the killer is dead but nobody knows for sure. Six other babies are born that night at the same time The Ripper's baby is born for some reason also. Cut to 16 years later. All the babies are teenagers. They celebrate their birthdays/Ripper Night by gathering in the woods and pushing over a "Ripper" puppet to keep them and the town safe for another year. However, this time they are interrupted and the puppet does not get pushed over so I guess that means carnage has to ensue (whatever).

This movie wasn't completely unwatchable. It had some funny moments "You can't attack me I spit in the river!" But what really bothered me was the fact that it was so dark, literally dark. I know its a horror film but not every bedroom, bathroom, and hall way had to be so dark. I keep joking with Kris that this town must not agree with electricity. But anyways, its not awful but nothing you need to rush right out and see.

Kris.... Steph really nailed this one. I wouldn't say you should rush out and see it,but its worth a rent.

Harry Brown

Steph...Michael Cain is "Harry Brown" in this movie about a retired man whose friend is killed by the street punks living in their neighborhood. After the cops pretty much do nothing, Harry Brown goes on a rampage. Tracking down the gang members and shooting them. This movie was good, but a little long. At times I almost thought of using the subtitle feature just because the English accents were thick and mumbled. All and all not bad.

Kris.... I really liked this one. Micheal Caine is angry Grrrrrrr. He is one of the best actors of the last 30 years and he holds this movie well. You can really see the sorrow in his face and then the rage as we takes out these punks one by one. I also had a hard time with the accents but you can figure out what is going on by the action. All in all this was good and worth checking out.

Afterlife

Steph...Liam Neeson, Christina Ricci, and Justin Long star in this movie about a girl (Christina Ricci) who gets into a car accident after having a fight with her boyfriend (Justin Long). She wakes up after the accident to find herself in a funeral director's house with the funeral director/undertaker (Liam Neeson) telling her that she's dead. But is she really dead or is Liam Neeson some psycho telling her that she's dead when she's not. The movie goes back and fourth for a while and midway through you figure out what's going on. This movie was very frustrating because you watch a super naked Christina Ricci running through a house to stupid to figure out what's going on. Liam Neeson was very flat and Justin Long was almost completely useless. Unless you want to see Christina Ricci naked, this movie is not worth watching.

Kris.... I thought this movie was ok until the end. There was no pay off at all. Another frustrating thing is Christina Ricci's character never asks really obvious questions through out the whole movie. But she is really naked for a large portion of the movie and that was cool.

The Blind Side

Steph...I'm going to make this short and sweet. I liked this movie. I liked Sandra Bullock as the mom. It was just a bit long and overly sentimental. But all and all not bad.

Kris.... Blah blah blah. This movie was whatever. How is this a come back for sandra bullock when she has never stopped making movies? She is solid here as she always is but not oscar worthy. Women will love the sentimentality and guys might like the football coming of age story. But i was kind of bored with this.

The Princess and the Frog

Steph...Its basically your typical Disney princess movie. The music is a little better because they threw in some New Orleans style jazz. And it was nice to see a "princess" with some ambition (wanting to open her own restaurant instead of marrying a prince). Other than that its a typical Disney movie.

Kris... I can appreciate what Disney was doing here. Its the typical Disney story with the twist that the main character isn't white. But having said that all the characters are likable and the music is very good. They really nailed down the New Orleans feeling for this.So i say if you have kids then rent this one for them to see.

Prince of Persia : The Sands of Time

Steph...As action adventure movies go, this one was just ok. I really didn't understand why all the actors in this movie had British accents, I mean they're supposed to be Persian right? But really who cares about all that? I only watched this movie to see hunky Jake Gyllenhaal with long hair in a Gladiator outfit. Can you say Hell Ya (insert purring noise). Keeping that in mind this movie does not disappoint. Its definitely worth watching just for that. So if you're a Gyllenhaal fan this is a must see, if you're not its fun but not a must see.

Kris.... This movie was slightly better than ok. There was some action and some laughs but it was missing something to make it really good.

The Fourth Kind

Steph...So I appreciate when directors and/or movies try a new style but the split screen was just really annoying. In this movie about supposed alien abductions they had a split screen showing "actual footage" next to actors re-enacting the "actual footage." Its a nice idea but none of this movie was real making the "actual footage" pointless. It was more like two separate groups of actors doing the same scene. The movie itself was mildly interesting but just kind of whatever.

Kris.... This movie was pointless. They should have stuck with one way of film making. Either show actors recreating the story or show the (real) footage as a (documentary). Switching back and forth and even showing both side by side was annoying to say the least.You aren't going to learn anything or see anything really good because just when things get good the camera always has static or shuts off all together. So i say stay away from this useless movie.

Wall Street : Money Never Sleeps

Steph...This movie was worth the wait. The movie starts with Gordon Gekko (Michael Douglas) getting out of jail and trying to reconnect with his daughter Winne (Carey Mulligan) with the help of her Wall Street boyfriend Jake (Shia LaBeouf). Jake and Gordon strike up a friendship behind Winnie's back and your never really sure if Gekko is using them to get revenge on the people who sent him to jail or if he's really changed. There is plenty of talk about bailouts,"too big to fail,"stocks, trading, etc. I didn't understand any of that stuff but it was still fun to watch.

Kris.... I really like this one. Shia LaBeouf is one of my boys and he is really good as usual. Micheal Douglas and Carey Mulligan were really strong as well. All the stock market banking talk was very confusing though. I made a comment to steph half way through the movie about how confusing it was and the last time i was that confused was the last wallstreet movie. Anyways this one is a little long but it moves along good and has strong acting so i say see it.

The Town

Kris...I have been looking forward to this for a long time and it didn't disappoint. Ben Affleck and Jeremy Renner lead a crew of bank robbers while Jon Hamm leads the FBI's effort to stop them.Blake Lively and Chris Cooper have smaller parts but both play them well.Rebecca Hall was good, as was Affleck but the real power of this film might just be Renner who is such a wild card that you never know what he is going to do next.Jon Hamm was very good but not used enough. Also directed by Affleck this is his second movie after 2007 Gone baby gone. With that movie and this one, it is looking like Affleck might be turning into one of the best directors around. So all in all this is a top notch movie and you should totally check out The Town.

Steph...I think Kris said it all. The movie was really good but not enough Jon Hamm. And it was nice to see Blake Lively branch out and play a grittier character. The Town is a must see.

Takers

Kris... I had no expectations going into this one so I was pleasantly surprised by it. This is a heist film following a crew of bank robbers and the two detectives chasing them. Matt Dillon, Chris Brown, Idris Elba, T.I., Jay Hernandez, Paul Walker, Hayden Christensen and Zoë Saldaña all costar and I thought they all were solid. T.I. was a bit much in some of the scenes. Its a solid heist movie and worth checking out.

Steph... It was ok. I'm not a big fan of Hayden Christensen's wooden acting, although it wasn't as bad in this movie. It was just ok. T.I's commentary during the heist was really annoying and there were no real surprises. The whole movie felt really over stylized. It was very check me out walking slo-mo as something blows up, aren't I a cool bank robber? No thank you.

Resident Evil: Afterlife

Kris.... The first resident evil movies was one of the best movies of that year. This one is not. However we didn't see it in 3-D. I dont think that would have helped. It was better than the last 2 movies and it did keep me some what interested. But still they never live up to the first one so I am always disappointed. I can't recommend you see this unless you have seen all the others and you want to know where they are going with the franchise. Hopefully the next one will be better........ Probably not :(

Steph...I'm really glad I saw this at the drive-in so I could spend my time watching other movies besides this one. It was your typical post-apocolytic zombie movie. And the super slo-mo every 2 seconds was annoying as hell. This is a definate don't

Backdraft

Steph....I liked this movie. Its a must see for all firefighter enthusiasts. Billy Baldwin and Kurt Russell are firefighting brothers who lost their father to a fire at a young age and are constantly fighting with each other. With the help of a fire investigator (Robert De Niro) they are trying to solve the mystery of an arsonist who is setting back draft fires and targeting specific people. This was very entertaining and I didn't cry my eyes out at the end like I did with Ladder 49.

Kris.... This has always been one of my favorite films and after watching it again it really holds up. Really if you have never seen it you must check it out.

The Philadelphia Story

Steph...Seeing as I have the plague and need to rest,during my waking hours when the NyQuil hasn't kicked in yet, I've been watching movies. I've seen this movie before and watched it again last night. The Philadelphia Story is a romantic comedy staring Katherine Hepburn, Jimmy Stewart, and Carey Grant. The story is about Hepburn's character who is getting married much to the dismay of her first husband (Grant). So with the help of a tabloid news reporter (Stewart) Grant sets out to shake up Hepburn wedding plans, but things get crazy when Stewart falls in love with Hepburn. What's a girl to do on the eve of her wedding? All I have to say is that this movie was made 70 years ago and is still more watchable and entertaining than anything Hollywood's produced romantic comedy wise in the past few years (the only exception being 500 days of Summer, that movie was great). So if you have the chance you need to check this movie out!

The Last Station

Steph...This movie was interesting. This was about the last days of Tolstoy, the Tolstory movement, and the relationship between Tolstoy and his wife. It moves kind of slow but the relationship between Helen Mirren's character (Tolstoy's wife) and Christopher Plummer's character (Tolstoy) was fun to watch. Plus, I have a new phrase to bug Kris with, "Am I still your little chicken?" Haha

Kris... This was a good movie but it was very slow at times. James McAvoy is slowly becoming one of my fav actors. He is really good here.Good acting make this worth seeing. Plus i love period pieces.

Heat

Steph...So this movie is nothing new. Its about 15 years old. But I had never seen it and I think Kris was about to revoke my movie card because of this. So if your lame like me and haven't seen it, this movie is about a bank robbery that goes wrong. Well that's what its supposed to be about but really its just an excuse to watch a De Niro and Pacino stand off against each other. Plus, it has a young sexy Val Kilmer in it. That's good enough for me! This movie is definitly a classic!

Kris.... Heat is one of the best movies of the 90's. The only thing that could be better about it is the length. At almost 3 hours, the director really should have cut out a half hour. The whole sub plot about Picino and his wife and her daughter could have been cut. Although the daughter is played by a young Natalie Portman. She is good in the role but cutting out that half hour would have made this movie much tighter crime drama. Having said that the acting is amazing.De Niro, Pacino, Val Kilmer, Jon Voight,Ashley Judd and Tom Sizemore before he went all crazy. Heat is a 9 out of 10 and every one should check it out.

Before the Fall

Steph...Napola A.K.A Before the Fall is a German movie about two boys at a training camp for the SS. One is the son of a high ranking Nazi and the other one is from a poor family who only got into the training camp because he is a great boxer. This movie was really good at depicting the harsh life at Nazi training camp,especially the way they try to train the boys to have no pity. This movie was sad but is definitely worth watching.

Thirst

Steph.... No, this is not that vampire movie. And I couldn't find a picture of the real one. This movie stars Lacey Chabert from Party of Five, and is about good looking people stranded in the desert making stupid decisions, that inevitably get them killed. Everything happens exactly the way you think it will. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't great. Its something to watch if you got nothing else to do.

Kris... Thirst is a pretty forgettable movie. I only really rented it because i like Lacey Chabert a lot and she is pretty good here. But like Steph said the people in these movies always make the worst decisions. Just remember this, If you are driving in the middle of the desert and a coyote runs in front of your truck. Run it over instead of turning your truck over a cliff. Enough said.

The Final Destination

Steph....So this movie isn't exactly new. It came out about a year ago and Kris and I just watched it on HBO the other night. All I can say is I am so glad I did not pay money to see this. The first movie in the Final Destination franchise was good, because it was new and interesting. By the time you get to the fourth one you know what to expect. Guy has vision of a horrific disaster and gets himself and friends away from it in the nick of time. Only to have the friends die one by one is some horrible way because they were supposed to die in the disaster in the first place, blah, blah, blah. If your bored and there is absolutely nothing else on, then watch it. Otherwise, don't waste your time.

Kris... I always liked these movies just so i can see 6 or 7 more ways pretty people could be killed. This instalment is pretty bad. In the future if they want to make more than they need to get some known actors and put some money into the budget. I have no more to say about this forgettable film.

Salt

Steph....This movie was ok. I like the fast pace of it and the fact the Angelina Jolie kicked everyone's ass. You could kind of tell how it was going to end but there were some good surprises along the way. If you have an afternoon to kill go see it.

Kris....Ya this was just ok. There is some good action and jolie was allright. I kind of felt like it dragged a bit. But if you want to go to the movies and you have seen inception allready then this one is worth checking out.

She's Out of My League

Steph... This movie was cute. It had its moments but it was more like something you'd see on lifetime of USA. It didn't feel like a big buget comedy to me.


Kris..... I liked this movie but didnt love it. The man guy is good as a loveable dork and the main actress is very hot but you know how this is going to play out. The real steal of this movie is the dorks gang of friends. All three are very funny. Rent this one and you will get some laughs but it wont make you want to buy it.

The Runaways

Steph...Hollywood it feels so good! The is a great rock bio pic. Dakota Fanning was great as Cherie Currie, the jail bait lead singer of the band. And I was really impressed by Kristen Stewart. I never in a million years would have thought that the chick from Twilight could play the legendary Joan Jett, but she did a great job. The only problem I had with this movie is that it only focused on Cherie, Joan, and Kim Foley (the producer). There are three other girls in the band you know. Hello! Does Lita Ford ring a bell? But other than that this is definatley worth seeing.

Kris... This is so Stephs music, but I actually liked it also. The music was good and the acting was very good. The only thing that really bothered me was seeing Dakota Fanning in a corset and stockings. Isnt she like 12? I mean i am a guy and was turned on by it but also repulsed because she is an infant. Ok so she is 16 in real life. Well anyway the movie was good and really worth seeing especially if you are into 80's punk/rock chick music.

Predators

Kris.. Predators is a mindless Summer movie.Adrien Brody stars as a mercenary who tries to lead a group of warriors/crazy killers off a alien planet while they are being hunted by predators. This is the 5th movie in the franchise but the 3rd to only be about predators and not involving aliens.Brody is very good here and also very buff physically. The rest of the cast is decent.Walton Goggins from the TV show Justified also stands out. I am a big fan of Topher Grace but he is just OK here. The movie feels unresolved at the end but if you want some mindless bloody killing summer movie then its worth checking out.

Inception

Kris.... Best movie of the year so far? Yes I say so. Leonardo Decaprio plays a man who gets hired to break into peoples dreams to steal their secrets.He then gets hired for one last job to try and plant an idea into someones mind.Sounds simple but it gets very coomplicated when they have to go into a dream within a dream within a dream. The cast is very strong.Lately Decaprio has only played these tormented men and he plays it here very good again. Ellen Page is good.Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Tom Hardy really steal many scenes. I cant say enough how good this is and if you get a chance check it out.

Steph... So worth the wait. I liked this movie a lot. It was visually breath taking and to top it all off there was a good plot. Definatley worth checking out

The White Ribbon

Steph..... Ok so I am a documentary loving, indie film watching, kind of a girl. So when I heard about The White Ribbon I wanted to see it (German movie, subtitled). I was very disappointed. It was 2 1/2 hours of strange things are happening in our villiage, and this whole big build up to who could be causing all of this strange and horrific offenses (children being tortured, barns buring down, etc)and there was no pay off! It ends with the narrator saying I moved away and never found out what happend. WTF?

Kris... I liked this one a little more than Steph. The ending did suck but it didnt ruin it for me. Its a good black and white indie movie.

The A Team

Kris.... I ended up liking this one but was expecting much more. All the actors involved were good. Hopefully this is just a setup for a kick ass sequel now that they have the introduction of this team over with. Are they trying to shot down that droid? No there trying to fly that tank. Awesome !!!!!!!

Steph....It was alright. I was expecting it to be a lot funnier, but it wasn't bad

Knight and Day

Kris.... I am a huge Tom Cruise fan so this was a must see for me. This was a fun action movie with a lot of laughs. Cruise was is the main reason to see this.Cameron Diaz was ok, but I am not a big fan of hers. She doesn't have much range as an actress and seems to play the same role over and over again. I defenantly say to check this one out if you get a chance.

Steph... I liked this movie inspite of the fact that Tom Cruise is it. It was fun, funny, and interesting. If your looking for a fun summer movie this is the one to see.

Macgruber

Kris...... OK this review is way over due but Steph and I moved in together a little over 3 months ago and have been behind on our reviews. Macguber is a parody of one of the greatest television shows ever. Its stupid, dumb and not very good at all and yet I laughed through out the movie. I cant recommend it but if there is nothing else to rent its worth some laughs if you are not expecting much.

Steph... This probably one of the dumbest movies I have ever seen. Its trying to parody a character from an 80's tv show, but gets all the main details wrong. Plus, there were so many opportunities for cameo's from the original cast (Richard Dean Anderson did make a cameo during the skit on SNL) but it never happend. Although I did like Val Kilmer in this movie
